Dr. Harold Milstein, M.D.
Dr. Harold Milstein is a Board Certified Internist who has been in full time medical practice since 1980. Graduating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences and from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1977 with an MD degree, he went on to do his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Metropolitan Hospital in NYC. He was in full time practice in Internal Medicine at a multispecialty group practice in Brooklyn, NY from 1980 to 2001, devoting about half of his time caring for hospitalized patients. During most of this time he was also Medical Director of this multispecialty group.
From 2001 to 2009, he worked as a SNFist, being the first physician hired to work full time in a practice devoted to upgrading the care given to patients at skilled nursing facilities. He primarily concentrated on patients receiving short term care in nursing homes. From 2009 to 2016, he served as hospitalist for an internal medicine group practice, full time providing care in hospitals in Staten Island, New York. As of 2016, he serves as a consulting internist for Kessler Rehab Institute in Chester, New Jersey, a world renowned acute care rehab institute.
Dr. Milstein has extensive experience in evaluating medical malpractice cases from an internal medicine perspective since the 1990s.
He has provided numerous independent reviews for medical malpractice matters, determining potential liabilities and appropriate standards of care. He has also worked with attorneys, representing physicians, institutions and claimants, involved with medical malpractice lawsuits. His special areas of interest include care given in skilled nursing facilities and on medical units in hospitals.
